Chukkadon Market, Kanchanaburi.

We loved this little market in downtown Kanchanaburi. We found the quite good MAS Stay-at-Cafe there as well.

This batch of Agfa Ultra 100 is looking quite good. It’s very contrasty so this market which was mostly covered wasn’t a very good place/time in which to use it. You can see that it struggled with the high-contrast scenes with bright sunshine and the dark covered areas in the same frame. The scenes with more even light were a lot better.

From our trip to Kanchanaburi in March 2019. I wanted to take Emily on the train from Thonburi to Kanchanaburi – it wasn’t such great idea in the end as it’s pretty damn hot in Central Thailand in March.

I spotted the monks on the station platform and watched them walk to a little mom and pop store over the road to buy supplies for their journey. I ran over and stuck my camera in their faces walked over and politely asked in my best Thai if I could take their photo and they happily obliged.

The novice didn’t really have much say in the matter but I think I got a really great expression from him. The senior monk was actually posing and looked away deliberately.
